WTF @ Spencer - s03e22

I have a toothache, which is making my head hurt. I’m cold. And tired. And just generally crummy. I guess it’s just not my day today or something. :(

Send blankets & movies my way pls.

How long did it take you to lose weight?Anonymous

Well at the time I was going on and off of weight loss. I would lose 10lbs, then fall off the wagon and gain 5lbs back. Then get back on and lose 10 again… etc. I started in May 2011 and that picture was taken March 2012. But I was really probably only dieting for a total of 4-5 months. Something like that.

Awesome progress!! You look great!mrsjonie

Thank you <3

thanks so much for those paleo tips. i'm looking into getting into paleo myself (with a cheat day, it's hard for me to live without pasta!), and this has made it a lot easier. so thank you. and what do you do about alcohol, if anything? i like to have a glass of white wine every night. do you think this will wreak havoc or is it mostly harmless? thank you so much again for being so inspiring. xhaliameguid

I used to think it would be impossible to not eat grains, pastas, breads, etc… but you get used to it. And after a while you start to recognize how you feel eating pasta vs how you feel eating something else.

As for the wine, I think that’s perfectly fine as part of your 80/20. However, for the challenge you might want to cut it out for the simple reason of understanding how it affects your body. You might find out that after drinking a glass of that wine you end up with a headache in the morning, consistently. That suggests some kind of intolerance and it would be a good idea to cut it out/change it. These minor ailments usually reveal themselves a month or two or three after cutting certain foods out and then slowly reintroducing them back in. But yeah, other than that I see no reason not to have something you enjoy especially when you’re mindful of the quantity.

Hope this helps :)
